Did you remember Google Moon, Google Mars ? Google release a new web service named "Google Sky" now, the service same as Google Sky in Google Earth(from version 4.2), but it changed to web base. The only different between web base Google Sky and Google Sky in Google Earth is web base Google Sky cannot view the northern and southern celestial poles , but Google Sky in Google Earth can. (because web base Google Sky system base on Google Map)
Anyway, thank Google XD, now we can surfing the universe without Google Earth.
